Starting point; Cenotaph
Key: L= left R= right FP=footpath WPW= West Pennine Way
- Walk down road passing village store on your L
- Follow main road round bend down Johnson New Road
- At next bend cross road and take track opposite
- Continue on this track( ignoring FP on your R), Industrial site on your L
- Take rough track straight ahead, stream on your L
- Cross footbridge and go up steps at the side of property
- Take FP going R
- Continue on this FP up to cottages
- Turn R and walk for short distance
- Take track first L up to house on your R
- Take narrow FP in front of house
- Go over stile
- After next stile turn sharp L up field
- At top of field turn R and go over stile after stable
- Walk towards chapel
- Turn L in front of Pickup Bank chapel to join WPW as it goes towards Chapel woods.
