Tony Wheeldon.

Hi All,

As most of you will know last year I had a slight health scare, which resulted in a double bypass operation at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

I also reached the Seventy years of age mark just after the operation had been successfully carried out.

In order to help Blackpool Victoria Cardiac Department and the British Heart Foundation I intend to walk seventy miles in seven days.

I would like to invite members of the groups along should they wish to join me. The walks will all be approximately ten miles long. They will include the Official Lancashire three peaks.

In order to raise the funds I would ask those people taking park in each walk to donate £1.00p for each walk they take part in. Their names will then be entered in a draw which will take place at the end of the final walk. We have a number of prizes for this draw.

The walks will take place starting the week commencing Monday 20th May 2019, Each walk will start at 1030hrs from the following locations.

Monday 19th May 2019                          Tockholes Vaaughans Cafe Car Park.

Tuesday 20th May 2019                         Sawley Abbey.

Wednesday 22nd May 2019                   Entwistle Res Lower Car Park.

Thursday 23rd May 2019                        Jeffery Hill Car Park Longridge.

Friday 24th May 2019                            Garstang Car Park between Main Street and River Wyre.

Saturday 25th May 2019                        Nick of Pendle roadside parking area.

Sunday 26th May 2019                          Manston nr Ilkley.

The last walk will be with Blackburn Ramblers –  further details of this walk be published latter.

I hope that the Monday Blackburn With Darwen Health Walkers will be able to join us from Tockholes for the first two miles or so of the walk.

If anyone of those walkers are able and would like to complete the first walk with us they are more than welcome.

As most of you will know I have led walks for Blackburn Ramblers, Health Walks Scouts etc for many years.

All the very best

Tony Wheeldon.
